Image of Mike Wardle - Chief Executive 

The Chief Executive of the General Social Care Council (GSCC) is Mike Wardle. Mike was appointed to the post in October 2007; prior to that he served as the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Strategy at the GSCC and was responsible for helping to set the strategic direction for the organisation through policy development, business planning and building relationships with stakeholders. Mike joined the GSCC in 2002 as Director of Standards and Regulation. Before joining the GSCC, Mike worked in the Department for Education and Skills in a variety of roles in education policy and administration. This included time spent working as part of the management team of the Further Education Funding Council and as Principal Private Secretary to Education Secretaries David Blunkett and Estelle Morris.

Image of Hilary Lloyd - Interim Director of Regulation

Hilary Lloyd
is the interim Director of Regulation. Hilary has worked as a solicitor and held a number of posts at the Law Society, including head of Legal Services and her most recent post there was as Director of Regulation Standards, which was responsible for the accreditation (registration) of solicitors including standards. She then worked for the new Solicitors Regulation Authority as Change Programme Director.

Image of Richard Healy - Director of Corporate Resources

Richard Healey is the Director of Corporate Resources and is in charge of the main support services including finance, human resources, IT and office administration. He is also the lead for internal audit, risk management and business continuity. Prior to GSCC, Richard was the Director of Finance for the Learning and Skills Council. His previous career included working as Finance Director of the Export Credits Guarantee Department and in Finance and Audit roles with South Wales Electricity.

Image of Lin Hinnigan - Director of Strategy







Lin Hinnigan is the Director of Strategy and leads on policy, communications and business development. Prior to the GSCC, Lin was at the Ministry of Justice, where she headed up the Legal Services Regulation and Redress Division, following senior positions as Principal Educational Psychologist in Coventry City, Director of Learning for the Inland Revenue and Area Director of Her Majesty’s Court Service in the West Midlands.
