Hundreds of social workers, social care workers, directors of services, education providers and people who use services took part in the GSCC’s Annual Conference, ‘Making Social Care Work’. Interest in the conference was particularly high this year, representing an important time for social care with a number of key developments changing the way care is delivered. Delegates heard from Ivan Lewis MP, on personalisation and how it will affect the workforce, and from a panel of experts including Naomi Eisenstadt, Director of the Social Exclusion Task Force, on how to make social care work in practice.
