New guidance document: Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) requirements for registered social workers

15/05/2006

New advice and good practice guidance for meeting Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) requirements has been launched by the General Social Care Council (GSCC).

The guidance document is not statutory and is intended to help registered social workers meet the PRTL requirement of 15 days or 90 hours further training and learning. It provides advice and guidance for specific types of social workers, including self employed, agency and independent, as well as case studies that demonstrate the kinds of PRTL activity that can be completed.

The guidance document is available to download from the GSCC’s website and social workers are encouraged to print off as many copies as they require.
