GSCC diversity consultation focus group on 17 October in London

17/09/2008

The General Social Care Council is inviting registrants to share their views on how the GSCC can remove barriers and value difference through their work at a focus group being held on Friday 17th October in London, starting 10am.

Email equalityanddiversity@gscc.org.uk or phone Melissa Rodrigues 0207 645 3487 to register your interest or find out more.

The draft Single Equality Scheme outlines how the organisation intends to ensure it is inclusive, promotes equality and values diversity in its role as England’s social care workforce regulator.

Anyone is welcome to contribute their views on the proposals and the consultation runs until Friday 24 October 2008.

GSCC chief executive Mike Wardle said:
“Social care workers and people who use services come from all backgrounds and in order to best serve their interests, and those of the wider public we must be able to demonstrate that we uphold the highest levels of inclusiveness and diversity.
I hope that as many people as possible participate in this consultation in order to shape the way in which the GSCC meets its ongoing commitment to equality and diversity.”
