Parliamentary Reception 2009

You will find further information and speeches on our events page.

Fringe events

The GSCC held fringe events at the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat party conferences in autumn 2008 jointly with the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and Age Concern England.

The main theme of the events was the personalisation agenda, specifically with regard to older people.

The GSCC sponsored the events alongside the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and Age Concern. As the issue of social care continues to rise up the political agenda, the question surrounding how we provide care for an ageing population is becoming increasingly pertinent.

All three fringe events went very well, with high attendance and strong interest from conference delegates with lively discussions. The GSCC used it as an opportunity to raise the workforce regulation implications on personalising care services.
