Studying social work in England

More than eighty universities and colleges in England offer the new degree in social work, which is available at both undergraduate (Bachelors) and postgraduate (Masters) level. All the higher education institutions  listed below have undergone rigorous checks by the GSCC to make sure they are suitable to offer the new degree.

In some instances, a teaching institution is listed next to the university. This is the higher education college which will be teaching the course. It is linked with the university which will confer the degree.

Please contact the HEI directly to find out its particular degree course arrangements, such as entry requirements or course content. For information on the rules and regulations which apply to the degree,

This list shows all the courses which have received final approval from the GSCC. Only these courses, in England, will enable you to be eligible for registration as a social worker. For more information about registering, click here.

Students on employment based courses are not eligible for social work
bursaries .
