At the GSCC our aim is to bring equality and diversity to the heart of the organisation – that means, to our people. Equality and diversity is built into everything that we do – from our recruitment processes through to our service delivery. We don’t just want to talk about it; we want to make it happen! At every level of the organisation we are focused on promoting fairness, improving services and access; encouraging participation and challenging barriers to individual growth and development.
Our dedicated Equality and Diversity Advisor works to drive forward our equality and diversity programme across the organisation to continue developing a fair and inclusive organisational culture. We encourage and actively seek to ensure that our employees are representative of all walks of life – developing an organisation which is representative of our external community and creating a work environment that is diverse in every aspect. Supporting this commitment is the recognition of our status as an employer who is ‘positive about disabled people’ and an Investors in People champion.
As an employee of the GSCC you will be encouraged to participate in range of activities to help promote the diversity agenda. Ongoing training courses will also provide you with the opportunity to keep up to date with equality and diversity issues and the value diversity can bring to an organisation.
Our programme of development includes our ongoing commitment to developing policies across the organisation which ensures that our work meets the needs of different groups. By assessing the impact of our policies on our employees, stakeholders and service users we work to ensure that everyone has a say in how our organisation works.
